The Iberostar Canary Islands and Mallorca Logitravel dispute an interesting game tonight at the Pavilion Insular Santiago Martín in La Laguna in Tenerife at 9pm in the Canary Islands. They are two teams who know each other; and two coaches (Xavi Sastre and Alejandro Martinez) who already know each other’s “secrets”. A difficult week for a trip to the Canary Islands and two games, to reduce costs, Friday and Sunday in La Laguna in La Palma.
Mallorca travel basketball spurred on by his two wins of quality, to Burgos and Menorca, compared to Iberostar has rectified after the initial blunder in Pamplona. But this week has been so peaceful for the oranges, they begin to see how the problems as injuries affect their daily routine.
This week Marques Whippy has not trained because of a sprained shoulder. "After Friday's game pain complain, Marques’s stopped playing; but we hope that he will be back on track on Friday or Sunday in La Palma, if the inflammation has gone down," Xavi Sastre said. Adding to that, the point guard, Carles Bivia has not exercised in the last two sessions due to a discomfort in the groin. These two losses have eroded the quality of the team work. "I'm not happy with the work of the week, and perhaps the wins against Menorca and Burgos have given us a slight relaxation that comes to us all well. This week we lacked attitude and concentration, besides not being able to have all our key players in the games, "coach analyzed. "We will be at the same height as on Friday. If we worry too much, it will be very complicated. For me it is the best team, with a block made of a few years working with Alejandro Martinez" he said.
Both Xavi Sastre and Alejandro Martinez are good friends. They shared the bench of the junior selection. "Some time ago we met and we face. There are few secrets, but now maybe I learned something more from the other seasons than he does to mine, which has only been seen in three league games," Xavi says.
On paper the game is presented as equal, both with two wins, two more teams being the scorers with 90 points on average for Ibersotar and 87'5 for Logitravel Mallorca. Also on track will face the current MVP of the championship, the pivot base Jakim Donaldson and Carles Bivia.
